New Morning

It’s the first day of the new year and everything is going great so far.

Maybe one of the best things about the beginning of a new year is the feeling of a brand new start. Things from the previous year haven’t been magically wiped from existence but you get the green light that things are good and to move on to the next thing. So, it’s kind of similar to a new start. After the year we’ve all just had, it’s nice to have a bit of a palette cleanser even if it’s just a made up one. A blank canvas. A mental refresh. Going outside and seeing the sun in the sky after it had just stopped raining.

At least some things are different.

On the topic of new, if you’ve browsed our online shop before and are reading this right now, I’m sure you’ve noticed there’s been a few changes. I’ve been working on redesigning the website leading up to the new year. Most of what’s new are just visual changes, streamlining some details, and clarifying some language but maybe the biggest changes are the addition of the  “News” section and the “Journal” section.

With the “News” section, it’ll be a focused source for you to get all the latest from us regarding new products, release information, store updates, event schedules (for when we’re able to venture outside our homes again). Just direct reporting of information.

The “Journal” section is what I’m most excited about because it’ll allow us to share stories and talk more in depth about things, people, or ideas that inspire us in our daily work. This came about from wanting to have an avenue to communicate with our audience that wouldn't get lost in all the noise and share the things that motivate and keep us creating.

This all started with the “Film Club” posts on Instagram, but each time I posted something, I found it too restricting with its 2,200 character limit. With this new platform, I’ll be able to dive deeper into topics if I feel like it. Explore objects of inspiration. Discuss ideas and concepts. Share stories on specific subjects. Take you behind-the-scenes of a design. Anything is up for conversation.

So, that’s all for now. Happy New Year, everyone. Thanks for all the support you’ve given us this past year. Let’s make this year a great one.
